Kyoto Art Festival – 京都芸術祭
平けく〜安らけく〜平安のまつり。
千年の都「京都」から、美術や音楽などの平安のメッセージを、世界に発信するまつり（祭典）。
地球と人、人と自然、人と人の「共鳴・共喜・共生」をテーマに、伝統と革新が交差するステージを創出。地球のために、社会のために、人のために、そして未来のために、我々はいま何をすべきなのか。地球とはなんなのか？人間とはなんなのか？今、改めて立ち返る、そんなメッセージを伝播していきたい。
そして、毎年恒例に、行末は日本独特のまつり―皆んなで創り上げていく祭典、となっていく。
また、3年に一度は全京都を舞台とした同時多発的な京都芸術祭に、5年に一度は世界の祭りを京都に招聘し、世界版になっていく。
– A millennium city sends its message to the world. From Kyoto, the capital of a thousand years, a new festival rises—a celebration that carries the spirit of Heian: peace, harmony, and inner stillness through art, music, and human expression. This is a stage where tradition and innovation meet, and where the themes of resonance, shared joy, and coexistence between Earth and humanity, nature and people, are brought to life. We ask the timeless questions: What must we do for the Earth? What is humanity? What is our place in the universe? This festival serves as a return—a reminder, a message, a reawakening. It will grow into an annual tradition: a uniquely Japanese festival shaped not only by creators, but by everyone who gathers to build it anew each year. Every three years, Kyoto becomes the stage for a citywide, simultaneous Kyoto Arts Festival. Every five years, festivals of the world are invited to Kyoto— becoming a global celebration born from a millennial city.
『京都』にこめた想い – Nature × Culture × Humanity in KYOTO
150万人が暮らす都市が見事に自然と共生している。こんな街が世界の他にあるだろうか？ 千年を超える歴史の中で、日本文化と精神の中心として輝き続けてきた京都。いのちと共に在る術を体現し続けてきた先人たちの叡智。平安への想い、「平らけく、安らけく」──その祈りの言葉を礎に、常に最先端で革新的な芸術文化を生み出し、世界を魅了してきた。いま再び、文化 × 伝統 × 芸術 × 未来が交差するこの地・京都が立ち上がるしかない。ニホンの真髄を、この舞台・京都に集結させたい。
– A city of 1.5 million people living in effortless harmony with nature—where else in the world does such a place exist? Kyoto, the spiritual and cultural heart of Japan, has shone for over a thousand years. Here, the wisdom of our ancestors—those who lived in constant dialogue with life and nature—continues to breathe. “Tairakeku, Yasurakeku”—a prayer for peace and inner stillness. From this foundation, Kyoto has always created avant-garde, boundary-breaking art that has captivated the world. And now, once again, Kyoto must rise—the crossroads where culture, tradition, art, and the future converge. We gather the very soul of Japan onto this ancient, living stage.

この指とまれ！祭（Matsuri）を芸術（Art）に込め、ジャパニズム（Japan Spirit）を奏でる日本を発信するアーティスト達が共鳴し、集う。 自然、文化、そして人の絆の大切さを、未来のために今こそ見つめ直す。 想いを高め、メッセージを伝播する中心地となる…盛大で、永続する、人々の心に響き続ける芸術の祭典を創造したい…！
『世界平安・永続する共喜・輝きのある未来』への願い。新しい時代の幕開け。いま、日本に、そして世界に本当に必要なこと。決して私たちは、悪い時代に生きているわけではない…ただ、大切な”何か”が見失われ、隠されてしまっている。モノに溢れ、低次元な価値観に縛られ、抜かれた魂があちらこちらと舞う。モノが支配する世の中で、豊かさ、感動、本質的な楽しさ──それらはどこへ消えてしまったのか？地球の摂理に逆らい、人災が繰り返され、醜い争いが絶えない世界を、我々はいつまで繰り返すのか？私たちは本当に地球と共生できているのか？本気で共生しようとしているのか？我々は地球を変えるも、救うも、そして壊しすらできる。伝統・文化・愛・喜び──先人たちが築いてきたものをどう継承していくべきなのか？いまこそ問うべき時であり、共に考え、行動し、未来を創らなければ手遅れとなる。この【京都芸術祭 – 平安のまつり】は、そのメッセージを自然発生的に、波紋のように広がっていく“電波的”な祭典となっていく。
– “Come gather here.” Artists who carry Japan’s spirit—those who weave Matsuri into Art, and turn Japanism into resonance—assemble, connect, and ignite. Now is the time to look again at the bonds between nature, culture, and humanity. This festival is meant to become a pulse—a center where intentions rise, and messages ripple outward like living waves. We wish to create a grand, enduring celebration of art that continues to echo in the hearts of people— a festival born from the prayer for World Peace, Shared Joy, and a Radiant Future. We are not living in a “bad era.” But something essential has been lost, buried beneath excess, noise, and shallow values. Souls have been hollowed out, and true richness, wonder, and joy have faded into the background.
In a world overflowing with goods and conflict, we must ask: Are we truly coexisting with the Earth? Are we even trying? Humanity can transform the planet—heal it, harm it, or destroy it. Tradition, culture, love, and joy—the inheritance of our ancestors—how will we carry them forward? Now is the time to question, to act, to shape the future before it slips beyond reach. Kyoto Arts Festival – Heian no Matsuri will become a festival that spreads naturally—a living wave of spirit and message radiating from Kyoto to the world.
『まつり』で描きたいこと – Drawing to the world through MATSURI
私たちは、薄っぺらい紙に、デジタル画面に、絵（=想い）を描くのではない。街に、社会に、文化に、未来に、絵を描いていきたい。我々にしか描けない絵を、音とアートで、ライブ感あふれる空間を創り出し、想いを共鳴させ、波紋を広げていきたい。 ”平安”という未来への祈りをこめて。一人でできることは小さくとも、多くの人でできることは、大きな力になる！夢中になって、この世界をもっとカラフルで、面白くしたい。もっと豊かに、もっと心揺さぶるトキを、もっと多くの喜びを！贅沢すぎるくらいの沢山の愛を分かち合いたい──共に笑い、共に喜び合える、そんな未来を、まつりで描いていきたい。
– We are not here to draw pictures on thin paper or on glowing digital screens. We want to paint on cities—on society, on culture, on the future itself. We want to create a space alive with sound and art. a place where only we can draw the picture, and where our intentions ripple outward into the world. With a prayer for Heian—for peace that lives in the future—we believe that what one person can do is small, but what many can do together is limitless. We want to throw ourselves into this work, making the world more colorful, more surprising, more alive. More richness, more moments that shake the heart, more joy shared without holding back, more love—so generous it feels extravagant. Through Matsuri, we want to create a future where we can laugh together, rejoice together, and live in shared celebration.
